This course is a 60-hour classroom and practical exercise intensive class required to obtain a DCJS Private Investigator registration. This course is taught by actual private investigators who have worked a variety of cases and bring real world experience to the classroom. Students will notice during class that private investigators are not law enforcement. Double G believes that learning from actual, active and current PIs allows the students to get a unbiased, knowledgeable and direct-to-their-first-case instruction that will allow them to hit the ground running. Double G instructors are members of the National Association of Legal Investigators (the leading national association) and the Private Investigators Association of Virginia (the leading state association).

- Courtroom procedures and what to expect WHEN you go to court
- Different types of surveillance
- How to research for your case
- Report writing
- Tools of the trade
- General overview of investigative skills
- Types of investigations
- Real-World stories and examples pulled from past and active cases
- Interviewing techniques and the difference between interviewing and interrogations
- EXTRA: advice from active PIs
Completion of this course requires attendance in all scheduled classes, participating in the practical exercises, and passing the written exam.
Class times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday days from 9am to 6pm during the class scheduled dates.
Class is $600. A $100 deposit is due when reserving your seat. The remaining balance is due when you come to class. There are no refunds if you cannot attend the class after making a deposit.
